The coastal population of western bluebirds was once a common sight on Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands. However, the species had disappeared from these areas by around 1995. NCC’s efforts to reintroduce the western bluebird to the Cowichan Valley started in 2012. With this symbolic gift of western bluebird habitat, you can help ensure the survival of this songbird.
