Moose
The largest member of the deer family, moose can weigh up to 600 kilograms, stand over two metres tall at the shoulder and reach speeds of 55 kilometres an hour. From the Chignecto Isthmus land bridge in Nova Scotia, where the species is at risk, to British Columbia’s Flathead River Valley, NCC is protecting important habitat for moose and other common and at-risk species.
